Kabale, Uganda
Shalom Kabale Church was started in 2005 when Pastor Stephen Bamuleke, founder of Shalom Ministries in East Africa, relocated to Kabale, Uganda. Kabale is a community of approximately 48,000 people located in southwestern Uganda. Kabale is centrally located between the other communities in which Shalom Ministries has churches and serves as a good base of operations for the ministry.
The Shalom Kabale church is still small with approximately 30 people meeting together on Sunday mornings. They do not have their own building but they rent a meeting room at a local guest house where they meet together each week.
Currently Pastor Bamuleke is training another pastor, Pastor Geoffrey Ntegyereize, who is the head of the leadership team, to take over the leadership of this church. (right) Pastor Geoffrey Ntegyereize
Kabale is an interesting community with a mix of busy commercial areas as well as quiet, more pastoral areas. It serves as a tourist destination for people visiting nearby Lake Bunyonyi as well as the Bwindi Impenetrable National Forest where people go to seek out the legendary mountain gorillas.
Kabale is in a mountainous area of Uganda which is also known as the "Switzerland of East Africa". (right) A view of Kabale from one of its many hillsides
